RE-REGISTRATION FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR 2006/2007

The annual re-registration of the SHAPE School Bus Transport for the school year 2006/2007 will be carried out between April and June 2006. This article tells you what to do, when to do it and what paperwork you will receive.

It is important that you read this article. It is recognised that re-registration can be inconvenient, but we are trying again this year to reduce the burden on you as much as possible. Please take a few minutes to read over these notes so that you will know what to do. Above all, please come on time to re-register, as one of the causes of queues is the tendency for people to wait until the end of the re-registration period before attending the SHAPE School Bus Section.

Who has to re-register?

a. Parents with children already registered for the School year 2005/2006 and whose children require the school bus service again in, School year 2006/2007.

b. All newcomers and parents whose children are already living here, and whose children have never used the school bus, but want to use it during the new School year 2006/2007.

Where do I go and what do I need?

- SHAPE School Bus Section Office, Building 710 is at the end of the School Cafeteria.
- Military personnel need their SHAPE ID card.
- Civilian personnel need a Certificate of Assignment from their appropriate NMR or supporting nation. Without this certificate we have to send you an invoice that you are personally responsible for.

When do I attend?

Monday to Friday
0915 to 1115 hours
1330 to 1430 hours
1600 to 1700 hours

Can I send someone in my place?

No, it is necessary for one parent/guardian who is responsible for the child/children to come to the office.

What if I cannot get to the SHAPE School Bus Section Office during my scheduled time?

First, do make every effort to get to the School Bus Office on time. If you genuinely cannot make it (TDY, sickness, etc.), come when you can, but appreciate that you will have to take your place in the queue with those who are reporting at their scheduled time.

What paperwork will I receive?

a. Bus Pass (different colour every year - 2006/2007 is RED)
b. Safety Rules
c. School Bus Rules
d. Information about pick-up time/point
e. Information about payment of costs (only for people who are not a dependant of a participating nation. Ask School Bus Section for more information).

Re - registration Timetable

You are scheduled to visit the SHAPE School Bus Section Office during a particular week, according to the first letter of your surname. Please follow the schedule as closely as you possibly can.

Newcomers arriving after the re-registration period?

Newcomers who arrive after the re-registration period and who would like to have school bus transport should come to the SHAPE School Bus Section Office as soon as possible.

IMPORTANT

Children who still have a BLUE Bus Pass (2005/2006) will not be permitted to ride on the bus after 01 July 2006!
