The School Bus Office
The School Bus Office, located on the street end of the School Cafeteria building is open from 0900 to 1115, from 1330 to 1430, and from 1600 to 1700 during normal school days. Their number is 065 44 4013. A bus pass is required to ride the school bus, and annual renewal is a requirement.
PTSA
The Parent Teacher Student Association, or PTSA, is dynamic and does great things for both our SHAPE American Elementary and High Schools. They welcome and truly appreciate all volunteer support, and seek your membership (at a very reasonable cost!) to achieve their goals.
Occasional PTSA activities are also held for our children and family units. They hold quarterly general membership meetings which are announced in local news media. PTSA is able to provide significant funding for educational "extras" for both our Elementary and High Schools through a major fund raising bazaar in the fall, this year on October 15 and 16 in the school cafeteria and gym. Many volunteers are needed for the annual bazaar, and you do not have to be a member to help-it's very worthwhile and a fun volunteer activity. Come join us! Look for further PTSA and Bazaar info in school and community media publications.
School Advisory Committees (SAC)
School Advisory Committees (SAC): Each school has an elected advisory committee whose purpose is to advise the principals of parent and community concerns, and to work for improvement of our schools. There are four elected parents and four elected teacher representatives on each school's SAC.
The Elementary School SAC usually meets every school month on a day TBD at 1545 in the elem. school library. The High School SAC also meets at least 6 times during the school year in the high school media center on a day TBD at 1600. Parent attendance is invited and encouraged. Check school web sites/bulletins for current info on meeting dates/times/and minutes.
Other Support Organizations at the High School
The High School has two additional volunteer support groups, Booster Club which raises funds in support of all high school sports programs, and the Scholarship Committee, a private organization raising funds to award scholarships to the current senior class of the High School.
Both groups are very successful with what they do thanks to generous help and volunteerism in our SHAPE community. Each is very worthy of your time and talents in support of our children. Contact the school to see how you can be involved.
